Bicycle and Skateboard Day

On Wednesday, June 3, we had a bicycle and skateboard day. We blocked off the parking lot and rode our bikes, skateboards, scooters, and skates all morning. It was so much fun!!!

Celebration Station

On Friday, May 29, the School-Agers went to Celebration Station. We played Putt-Putt Golf, then we got some tokens to spend in the arcade. We put all of the tickets together that we won and each person got a prize. The boys picked plastic punching fists and the girls picked tiaras!

Monkey Biz

The Pre-K Class went to Monkey Biz on Tuesday, May 26. We had a blast!

Summer Camp!

Summer is finally here and we have so many fun crafts and activities planned. Many of you have asked me questions about Summer Camp. I figured that if one person has a question, others might wonder the same thing, so I'll answer a few.

Q: Do we need to send money each week for fieldtrips?

A: No, the activity fee plus your weekly tuition covers all of the fieldtrips and crafts.

Q: Can the children wear flip flops on non-fieldtrip days?

A: Yes, as long as we don't have a problem getting them to keep their shoes on.

Q:What should my child wear on fieldtrips?

A:Until our red A Lil One's shirts come in (probably the first week of June) they should wear any red shirt. After we receive and distribute the ALO shirts, each child must wear one for every fieldtrip. Everyone should have recieved a calendar and there is one posted by the door to the building. Ms. Ashley and I will also try to post reminders the day before each fieldtrip, but it is ultimately your resposibility to make sure your child is prepared for the day's activities.

Q: What time should my child arrive at ALO for fieldtrips?

A: We prefer for the children to be at the center no later than 9 on fieldtrip days. All of our fieldtrips are scheduled during the morning and for most of them we have to leave the daycare by 9:30 to make it to our destination on time. Anyone who has tried to get out the door and on the road with children knows how difficult that can be so just imagine how hard it is to get 20+ children loaded up and out on time. It helps us when everyone is on time and we can get our paperwork done, everyone goes potty and we can load up.
If you can think of anything else that isn't clear, please speak to me at daycare or leave me a comment. Thanks!

Graduation and Summer Camp

Graduation is this Friday, May 15 at 10am. Graduates must wear "dressy" clothes and be here by 9am. All family and friends are invited to attend.
Please be sure to fill out and return the forms and permission slips for Summer Camp as soon as possible. Ms. Ashley and I have planned a fun-filled camp this year and will be distributing calendars very soon. We can't wait for the summer fun to begin!

ZOO Fieldtrip!

Our class will be going to the Baton Rouge Zoo on Friday, April 24. It's going to be such a fun trip. We have decorated t-shirts to wear on the trip. Please see Mrs. Erika if you need more details. We could always use more chaperones if you'd like to come along with us.
On another note, Graduation is coming up very quickly. Mrs. Dawn is scheduling Cap and Gown portraits for us in the next couple of weeks! As decided by our poll, the ceremony will take place Friday, May 15 at 10 am in our building. See you there!

Cast Your Vote!

Hi Parents!
Over to the right, you will notice that I have set up a poll about the day and time of Graduation. I would like to know what works best for you. If we have the ceremony in the morning, you will have to take off of work to attend, but you can take your child out for a celebratory lunch afterward. If we have it in the evening, you won't have to miss work, but it might interrupt any dinner plans. Just let me know what you think and if you have any reason that you absolutely can't attend at a certain time, leave a "comment" to let me know. Either way it will be a very special event for you and your child.
